A picture is a group of colored points made on a flat surface. It looks the same as something else that it represents. For example: drawings, paintings or photographs.

An image is something that can be seen but not touch, because it is not physically there.
Why is this related to communication?
Visual communication is to present or express something by showing images, which include: signs, typography, graphic design, illustrations, pictures, paintings, drawings, etc.
